Formerly a partner with Ogletree Deakins, a national labor and employment boutique law firm, Steve is an experienced litigator who has defended private and public employers in civil rights litigation (focusing on discrimination and harassment) since 1990. Steve assists employers in developing internal training programs and employee handbooks designed to promote liability prevention. He has litigated cases involving claims of sexual harassment, wrongful discharge, and age, sex, and race discrimination.
Steve is “AV” rated by Martindale Hubble. He completed his undergraduate degree at Mississippi State University, where he majored in communications and journalism. His law degree is from the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss). Steve has represented businesses and individuals in a broad range of disputes for more than twenty years.
Jackson, Mississippi-based, Steve is a member of the Mississippi, Alabama, District of Columbia, and Tennessee bars. Steve is also a member of the labor and employment sections of the Mississippi, Alabama, and American Bar Associations. He is admitted to practice in all state and federal courts in Mississippi and Alabama, the Fifth and Eleventh Circuit U.S. Courts of Appeals, and the U.S. Supreme Court.
