From traditional labor matters in Alaska to trade secret cases in The Research Triangle, Kellam has handled business disputes in nearly every state representing clients ranging from technology focused entrepreneurs and life science startups to companies such as Bridgestone, PowerSecure, Apex Tool Group, and Barnes & Noble.

He oversees daily operations of Mainsail Lawyers and continues an active multi-jurisdiction commercial litigation practice, focusing primarily on trade secret, employee defection, non-compete, labor and employment, intellectual property, deal-related, shareholder, franchise, customer, competitor, and unfair competition disputes.

Formerly a partner with Wyrick Robbins Yates & Ponton LLP, where he handled business litigation of all types and served as the firm’s primary labor and employment litigator, Kellam charted his own course in 2011 by founding Mainsail Lawyers to serve you better.

Kellam received his B.S. in Russian, as well as Natural Resources, from the University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee, where he was a member of the Order of the Gownsmen. Kellam received his J.D. from the University of Alabama School of Law, where he was a member of the Bench and Bar Honor Society.

Based in our Asheville, North Carolina office and available by appointment at our Charlotte and Chapel Hill locations, Kellam is licensed to practice law in Alabama, Tennessee, and North Carolina. He is also admitted to practice before the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the Fourth, Fifth and Sixth Circuits and the U.S. District Courts for the Middle and Northern Districts of Alabama, Eastern and Western Districts of Tennessee, the Eastern, Middle and Western Districts of North Carolina, the Northern District of Illinois, the Eastern and Western Districts of Arkansas, and the Northern District of Texas.
