Mainsail Lawyers Welcomes Back Missy H. Speir

Mainsail Lawyers is pleased to announce that Missy H. Speir has rejoined the firm as an Associate, working from Charlotte, North Carolina.

Missy focuses her practice on commercial, trade secret, and employment litigation.  She is licensed to practice law in North Carolina and is admitted to practice in the United States District Courts for the Middle and Western Districts of North Carolina.

Prior to joining Mainsail Lawyers, Missy practiced civil litigation with Robinson & Lawing, LLP in Winston-Salem, NC.  She represented clients in a wide range of commercial litigation matters, including contractual disputes and unfair and deceptive trade practices claims.

Missy clerked for the Honorable William L. Osteen, Jr., United States District Judge for the Middle District of North Carolina.  As a law clerk, Missy worked on a variety of civil and criminal cases, including employment litigation, intellectual property disputes, and consumer finance matters.

Missy graduated from Wake Forest University School of Law, where she was chosen as a Guy T. and Clara Carswell Scholar, as well as a member of the Order of the Coif.  During law school, Missy served as Notes and Comments Editor for Wake Forest Law Review’s Board of Editors, and she competed as a member of the Moot Court Board. Missy also served as an Executive Board Member of Christian Legal Society.  Prior to law school, Missy completed her undergraduate education at Wake Forest University, where she graduated summa cum laude with Honors in English.  Missy graduated from a high school class of 371 students as Valedictorian.
